Ramon Valencia

 

Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Collaborations


Prior to joining Huiyu pharmaceutical, Mr. Valencia served as Vice President of Business Development with SystImmune where he was responsible for establishing strategic partnerships and collaborations with the pharmaceutical industry including leading deal structuring and negotiations of the $8.4B global strategic collaboration between SystImmune and Bristol Myers Squibb for BL-B01D1.


With over 25 years of experience in the biotech pharma industry and having worked as a researcher for over 12 years, Mr. Valencia holds multiple patents in medical diagnostics and wearable electronic devices and excels in developing strategic partnerships with renowned institutions and pharmaceutical companies. Throughout his career, he has held key positions in biotech/pharma, drug discovery and development companies, contributing to their growth and success.


Prior to joining SystImmune, he was the Head of Business Development at Conagen Pharmaceutical Division where he in-licensed a novel HER2 targeting antibody as well as an ADC platform for clinical development.


Prior to that, he was the Head of Corporate Development at AvantGen, Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy at Zumutor Biologics, among others.


Mr. Valencia has Master of Science in Biology from California State University, was an NIH Research Fellow at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford, U.K. and has succeeded the Effective Negotiations and Power of Persuasion Program from USC Marshall School of Business.
